His personal passions include spending time with family, cooking, fly fishing and serving on the board of the BigShifts Foundation.

Courtney Thomas is a native of North Carolina and a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She moved to the Kansas City community in 2002. In addition to Newhouse, she has delivered award-winning marketing campaigns and unlocked new revenue opportunities as CEO at Central Exchange, CEO of Great Plains SPCA, and COO at Wayside Waifs, while also being a wife, the mom of three, and dedicating her time to serve on boards of directors.

Bayleigh manages all administrative aspects of Small Changes Big Shifts. She also supports the Wellness Consortium by preparing all administrative work for the events across the Kansas City area. Her passion for health and wellness began when she first started playing sports. In Human Performance with an emphasis in Sports and Exercise Therapy. She graduated from Fort Hays Shortly after, she began working with Dr. Michelle Robin at her chiropractic practice. In 2021, she joined Small Changes Big Shifts because she believes in approaching health from a whole-person perspective and loves educating people about connecting their mind, body, and spirit.

Chelsea is the owner of Shake the World Consulting. She is a leadership coach and speaker with a passion for empowering people to see the possibility in their lives. Using The Enneagram, she works with individuals and teams to discover core motivations and maximize their potential. Previously, she spent nearly 10 years as a Financial Advisor, where she coached her clients toward abundance. Chelsea is the recipient of the Young ATHENA award (2020), and was an honoree for 20 in Their Twenties in 2017. She is a wife and mom of 2 boys, and loves being a part of the Kansas City community.

Whitney serves as the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at CommunityAmerica Credit Union, overseeing the areas of brand strategy and brand growth, content strategy, social and digital engagement and management, product development, member/corporate communications and community engagement. Nick Brandecker is a Sales Director for HealthAxis, specializing in helping health plans streamline the claims adjudication and processing process. Prior to joining HealthAxis, he has worked for multiple healthcare IT companies attempting to assist health systems and health plans drive operational efficiencies. Nick graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pittsburg State University with degrees in Finance and Marketing where he also played on the PSU baseball team for 4 years.

Jen is a functional medicine (nurse) practitioner, women’s non profit founder & self-employed entrepreneur set out to change the way we live with chronic symptoms and overall poor quality of life due to the food, thoughts, and habits we consume in our daily lives. Jen speaks on a range of topics from nutritional therapy and energy healing to motivational speaking for encouraging lasting change in others on a soul level.


Sindhu Fedosyuk | Safehome

Sindhu completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Syracuse University. She came back to the Midwest for graduate school and completed her master’s degree in counseling psychology at UMKC. She is very trauma-focused, and has been a therapist for nearly a decade now. She is the child of immigrant parents and has a huge passion for the BIPOC population and the traumas they have endured. She has a passion for littles and the importance of therapy during childhood. Healthy attachment, expression of feelings, and understanding of emotions start during youth, and blossom with age.


Terry Flynn  |  Blue Valley Schools

Terry Flynn retired from the Blue Valley School district in 2019. During her time at Blue Valley, she was the Department Chair of Healthy and Physical Education and Wellness Coordinator for Blue Valley West high School. She also served as the Director of Blue Valley XC and track Timing. Terry is a former head volleyball coach for BVW, BVHS, SMNW and Park University, she was assistant volleyball coach at Missouri State and the University of KS. She was in education for over 40 years.


Maureen Hannoun  |  UMKC

Maureen Hannoun has served 17 years at University of Missouri – Kansas City as Research Administrator; the past 9 years, as Director of the Office of Research Services. She manages an office of 12 which oversees $250 Million in proposals and $50 Million of annual awards for the UMKC community. Graduated Shawnee Mission Northwest high school in 1984. She has a Bachelor in Business Administration ‘91 and Master of Social Work ‘04 from UMKC.

Dr. Janice Hughes is an Executive Wealth Coach and Business Advisor. In her previous role as the Director of Investors for Curemark, a biotech startup company, she learned to apply the principles and strategies related to raising money and creating wealth, along the way being part of the team to increase the value of the company from 20 Million to a valuation of over 150 Billion. Dr. Janice now coaches individuals and companies to apply some of these same ‘money raising’ principles in their own lives and businesses.

Alex McAnderson is the owner of Villalobos Vitality. She brings more than 12 years as a leader in Relationship Management. Her life mission is the continuation of a meaningful, powerful and purposeful existence though the connection of mind, body and spirit. She strives to bring mindfulness to the corporate sector. Alex is also the Treasurer for The Rock Chalk Roundball Classic a non-profit dedicated to helping local families fighting pediatric cancer.

Tara Moreland is an attorney at Guin Mundorf, LLC in Kansas City, where she practices education law, representing public school districts from around the state of Missouri. Much of Tara’s career has been spent in public service, and she strives to serve her community both personally and professionally. Tara has a passion for mental health awareness and serves as a member of the Lawyers Living Well committee with the Missouri Bar, as well as a volunteer for the Missouri Lawyers Assistance Program. She also is an At-Large Board Member for the Association of Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City and serves on the Nominations Committee for the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. Tara is a graduate of William Jewell College and the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law, and originally is from Parsons, Kansas.
